Our History

Established in 2008, the EAFC has celebrated nearly a decade of footy in Edmonton! Our fixture includes local games during June, July, September and October, along with weekend tournaments in Kelowna and Calgary. National Representatives may also be called on to play in the Parallel Cup, the International Cup, or any number of National / International tournaments throughout the year.

If you wish to be part of this great social and athletic club, please feel free to contact us with any enquiries. We love to educate and train people in our game and have players of all experience levels training and playing with us at all times!

The EAFC developed and trialed a non-contact version of Aussie Rules football, dubbed COZBall, focused on skills development rather than physical play.
2017
London Footy Carnival and IC 2017
Members of the EAFC represented Team Canada in both London, England (as the men's North Stars and women's Midnight Suns) as well as at the 2017 International Cup as the women's Northern Lights and men's Northwind.

2019
EAFC Tournaments
With great membership numbers, we were able to represent Edmonton with full teams at multiple tournaments Alberta and BC. For the first time in EAFC history we took a full team to play a match in Seattle. Their experience playing in wet weather prevailed, but we battled through until the end.
2020
Pandemic Hits
With the turmoil of the Covid-19 pandemic, we were the only sporting code in Edmonton to return to full-contact games. Through a dedication to player safety and compliance with all Alberta Health Services guidelines we were happy to report zero infections or transmission through any of our events!
2021
Pandemic, Continued.
Unfortunately our indoor practice schedule was cancelled again due to the ongoing crisis. The start of the season was postponed but we did get back to tournament footy with games in Edmonton and Kelowna. We also awarded the club's very first Lifetime Membership Award, with hopefully many more to come.
